Camas Washougal Rotary Scholar of the Month for April: Mac Wright

Congratulations to Mac Wright, the Camas Washougal Rotary Scholar of the Month for April 2012. Mac is a sophomore at Washougal High School, and has a 4.00 GPA. Library Assistant and Drama volunteer, Fran Mccarty notes that she has "worked with Mac on several occasions in drama. He has always been so polite and cooperative." Band teacher Kelly Ritter describes Mac as a "hard worker, enthusiastic, great attitude, very pleasant young man." Science teacher Pauline Rule says "Mac is highly intelligent and surprises teachers with his quietness in class, then wonderful expansive character portrayal in school plays."

Spanish teacher Rochelle Aiton says "Mac is an unassuming, talented, athletic and academic student, an all-around great guy!" Mac is the son of Scott and Jennifer Wright.

Watercare Industrial Services Student Achievement Highlight 


 Sydney Loveland 
“More than just a blonde” WHS Senior, Sydney Loveland is dedicated to all that she does, whether it is her passion for education or her love of sports.  Sydney has participated in soccer, basketball, track, gymnastics, dance and softball.  Yet, ask her what her favorite smell is and Sydney will say the smell of new-mown grass, “Because it reminds me of how the field smells during summer softball.” Syd is passionate about life, and to know her is to really understand the meaning of friendship.  Having overcome injuries and losses to become an outstanding young woman of whom we all can be proud, Sydney knows how to prevail through adversity and is sure to be a winner throughout her life.  

  Colton Sullivan
 
WHS Senior Colton Sullivan is soft spoken, but don’t let that fool you.  This young man is a leader and role model both in the classroom and on the playing field.  A shining academic star, Colton strives to improve his learning and performance continuously in all his classes.  He also excels athletically and has served as team captain in both football and soccer.  As a STAR mentor, Colton is always willing to tutor other students and help out with activities.  He maintains a kind, friendly, respectful demeanor towards both students and staff and thus is a welcome presence wherever he goes.  Colton’s strong work ethic and relentless pursuit of self-  
                             improvement make him an excellent candidate for future success.
