Student Achievement Highlight-May

Watercare Industrial Services Student Achievement Highlight

WHS Senior Sydney Niemi works like a well-oiled machine and provides the muscles of the ASL (American Sign Language) program.  When given a task, Sydney takes charge and has become the teacher’s “right hand man.”  There is no task that Sydney will refuse, no task she does not complete.  Intelligent, studious and hardworking, this young lady is well respected by her peers and teachers.  Sydney has picked up the slack as an ASL Club officer when others weren’t able to complete tasks or attend meetings.  To sum it up, Sydney is “talented and awesome”, and she will be missed at WHS.

According to her teacher, WHS Senior Savannah McDowell is the “heart and soul” of our ASL (American Sign Language) shows.  Savannah creates the posters, edits and runs music, and keeps the instructor organized.  Because she works so hard and cares so much about everything she does, Savannah is respected by every student in ASL.  Savannah is also active in Wind Ensemble and Pep Band, where she plays baritone saxophone and serves as band president.  Studious, thoughtful, enthusiastic, this young woman is a true leader.  Her positive attitude motivates others, and Savannah demonstrates the skill of quietly leading by example in all she does.  These traits will benefit Savannah and those around her far into the future.
