Academic All-Star Awards
This week we finished up our last grade level assembly to recognize Academic All-Stars for 1st semester grades. Each department selected a student from each grade level based on their academic effort 1st semester. We will be recognizing the students again at an end of year assembly.
Congratulations to all the Academic All-Stars!
Collection of Evidence for Reading and Writing
Thanks to the hard work of Carol Boyden, Debbie Buchanan and Kathy Loney, we shipped off our Collection of Evidence portfolios to OSPI. The Collection of Evidence or COE is an alternative way students can meet standard on the HSPE. The HSPE is a graduation requirement. All the students who completed a COE portfolio worked extremely hard throughout January and the first part of February. Hopefully, their efforts will be rewarded!
Curriculum Guide
We are finishing up the 2011-12 curriculum guide. Hopefully it will be published on our website within the next couple of days. The curriculum guide has very important information for students as we begin thinking about next year. It not only lists all of the courses that students can forecast for, but also necessary information regarding graduation requirements, continuing education information, the 4-year plan and more. Be on the look out for the 2011-12 curriculum guide.
Panther Time Support
Students who are currently struggling and want to receive additional support can do so during Panther Time. We currently have biology, math, and English labs available for students during Panther Time. Students can also go to the Career Center for student mentor/tutoring support. If you want additional information about additional support available, please contact Owen Sanford or Chris Mackey at 954-3113 and 954-3114. If you want to know more about the Career Center tutoring, contact Marsha Spencer at 954-3121.
